Lilim Harlot Recap
So the Human Order is punishing us for excessive use of Extra Classes, but we get a freakin’ Beast-class Servant dropped on us? Make it make sense, please.
As events go, Lilim Harlot was fun but not exactly what I’d call great, either. I haven’t had a chance to use Sétanta1 or Draco in fights outside of the event yet, though I’m sure I’ll get my chance soon. I do love that the artist (WADARCO) went with a completely different design than what we’d expect for a character that is technically a variant of Nero—the horror of the 2nd Ascension art notwithstanding—3rd Ascension is where it’s at, and most of the Nero-like tendencies are pretty much gone. You still get a sense that Draco2 is a Nero variant BUT she is essentially separate from Caster and Saber Nero.
Ordeal Cash Grab Call 1 Lands ~ 5/18
So the time has come for those of us on the NA server: the Ordeal Call era is finally here. Or—as I like to call it—Ordeal Cash Grab, because that’s exactly what it is. I share the sentiment of a lot of players that the Lostbelt arc has gone on for far too long. I will give Delightworks and Lasengle the benefit of the doubt considering that the pandemic likely did slow down releases, and I’m sure the sale of Delightworks to Lasengle during that same time period threw some confusion into the mix as well.
However, throwing Ordeal Call at us when everyone was expecting a Temple of Time resolution at the end of Lostbelt 7, and then taking six months to a year between OC chapter releases on top of that? Yeah no—that felt like a bait-and-switch of epic proportions. I’d be curious to see if player engagement has dropped off on both JP and NA after Ordeal Call was announced.
Anyway, if you’ve logged in recently, you probably got a butt-load of QP, 5⭐️ Embers, and 3/4⭐️ Fous. Have fun leveling—or in my case, finding a Servant you actually want to level. The sad part is I didn’t have any so I had to start looking at my second archive3 to determine who would be the most useful to me in the near future.
What About Me?
Because the Lostbelt arc has dragged on longer than a power-up in Dragon Ball Z, I’ve starting losing interest. It took me almost three months to finish Lostbelt 7, for one. Second, other than Lilim Harlot, I’ve been skipping events left and right and just generally ignoring summons campaigns. To be honest, I predicted my lack of interest by this time after the previews from the Japanese server two years ago. My lack of interest has even extended into the near future—I have no interest in upcoming events, including this summer’s event. I’m not really interested in ‘Zerker Castoria and Caster Aesc (Morgan), and honestly I don’t give two shits about Foreigner Knocknarea, either.
That doesn’t mean that I’m done with FGO. I’m still doing the story chapters as they come out—I’m just not as pressed to do them as I was in the past. I guess FOMO has no effect on me at all.
So what happens to this space? Nothing. Psy-dreamer.com has been around for over 20 years, and has been a host to a myriad of my interests over the years. I have a bunch of Blender-related stuff that I’ve been planning to post, and a planned redesign that also includes eliminating Google Analytics and hopefully Jetpack—the one useful feature of Jetpack has managed to break with a WP release, so there’s no point in keeping it.
