There’s a pattern with some of the events in Fate/Grand Order—they seem to repeat elements from main-chapter stories released a year (or more) ago. Summer 2025 is no different. We get elements of the original Servant⭐️Fes 2020 event, combined with story elements from Lostbelt 6 and cameos from Lostbelt 7 characters.
At first, I was going to skip this year’s summer event but now I’m glad that I didn’t skip this event because it was actually pretty fun, and nowhere near as grindy as the 2020 Servant⭐️Fes event was.
The best way to sum up Servant⭐️Fes 2025? A happy ending and arch resolution for everyone’s favorite Lostbelt 6 characters. Barghest overcomes the fear of becoming the Calamity of Fire—her summer form is a counter to the Calamity of Fire; Cnoc na Riabh is reunited with Altria Caster and the MC. While Aesc the Savior (Morgan’s idealistic younger incarnation) does make an appearance, it didn’t do much to advance the story. Aesc’s 3rd Ascension—which is actually Summer Morgan—contributed more to the storyline than Aesc did. It was almost like the writers went “hey, wait a minute…” and sort of wrote her in at the last minute.
Spoiler: almost cried after the defeat of the final boss. It’s obvious that once she remembered who she was, Cnoc na Riabh remembered the events at the start of Lostbelt 6.3.
Table of Contents
Event Welfare: Foreigner Cnoc na Riabh
I may have missed the explanation for why Cnoc na Riabh is a Foreigner instead of a Ruler but I think it has to do with her connection with Wandjina in this Singularity.
One complaint: couldn’t they have designed a better costume for Cnoc na Riabh? Seriously? The rest of her outfit is fine, but what the hell is up with her pants and suspenders?
Oberon: The OG, Always-In-Debt, Sus Muthafu—
Oberon seems to occupy the same niche as Douman and BB—exists just to cause problems for the MC. He’s is the reason for the Singularity’s three Calamities, although the initial screw-up was on BB’s end by merging Australia with Luluhawa in the first place.
Gameplay: 2020 Event Comparison
This event wasn’t nearly as grindy as the 2020 Servant⭐️Fes Event was. For one, you didn’t have three different point ladders to deal with. I failed to complete the points ladders that time, though I got all ladders in the rerun during the following year.
90+/90++ Farming Nodes
I generally don’t bother with the 90++ nodes, but farming the 90+ node is usually doable.
Boss Fights
For the final boss fight—a Foreigner-class enemy—I brought Bazett along and basically cheesed my way through that fight. Finished within four turns. Although, with the post-epilogue revisit, rng went against me so it took eight turns that time around.
The Fandom is Disgusting
Remembering the “controversies” with Melusine and Chloe from the original run in 2023, the only thing I gotta say is y’all are a bunch of disgusting perverts, but that’s also about what I’d expect from the denizens of Reddit.
Disclaimer: I hate puritans.
Aside: Censorship and Thought Crimes
It’s sad that young American adults don’t have any concept of what a thought crime is, and we can thank the education system for that one. Not one of these “adults” seem to understand that it’s wrong to persecute someone based on what YOU think they’re thinking.
The meaning behind any piece of art is always going to be in the eye of the beholder—if you’re the one thinking something is immoral or “dirty,” then you’re the one with the problem, not the artist. This has been rehashed to death repeatedly over the last forty or more years, the most (in)famous case being Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center’s Filthy Fifteen list back in the ’80s.
Looking Ahead
The next event has been foreshadowed by the final boss in this year’s Summer Event: Wandjina World Tour. Yes, Wandjina is coming to Chaldea and she’s a limited SSR Foreigner Servant. Considering the way the event schedule has run so far, my prediction is that we’ll get this event at the start of September. I’ve got no plans to roll for Wandjina since my eye is on Ruler Uesugi Kenshin and the New Year’s Servant, Yamato Takeru. Depending on reward drops, I may skip the World Tour event and the rest of the fall events other than GUDAGUDA. I’m on the fence about the Christmas event. I want to save SQ for Kenshin and Takeru 🤞🏽
If I look further ahead to February 2026 and beyond—the events seem meh other than next year’s story chapters.
